Any parts in old fax and printer?

May 25th, 2008 The Smart Guy Posted in Uncategorized No Comments »

I have and old fax and an old printer that are headed for the dumpster. Are there any good parts in these machines that I should salvage? If there are, can someone point me to some fun projects to build with them?

thanks
DT

Guy on Bike Forums under the name Cassave posted details of his recent frame construction. Great documentation of frame building from the ground up:

"I’ve had a few people suggest that since I’m building a new frame why not document it in a thread. So, for those that might be interested here’s how a lugged steel frame goes together. I know some of you have barely or rarely seen lugged steel frames but this is how bikes have been put together for over a century."

recently I modded my brothers radio in his BMW and my radio in my SAAB to accept ipod. the procedures were almost identicle, and the pinout of the cassette was the same iirc.

I posted this to be published in the magazine, but I figure that it probably wont be, so i figured that I would try to at least let a few people know about it .

To the editors of MAKE: I love your magazine and store (my make: daisy is what I use instead of an ipod in the car!) And would be very honored if you do decide to publish my story
